Case Studies
RSA (Contract)
RSA is one of the world’s leading multinational insurance groups. With a focus on general insurance, it has significant market positions in the UK, Scandinavia and Canada. RSA employs around 32,000 people and has 20 million customers around the globe. Following the appointment of a new Chief Executive in 2003, RSA embarked upon a programme of major organisational change.
The Group Corporate Centre (GCC) is RSA’s head office function and currently has a remit to develop and implement major change across the globe. With c.300 employees, it is based in central London.
The Business Challenge
An organisational restructure within the GCC was key to the strategy of the new Chief Executive, with an overall aim to increase capability and create a more pro-active ‘new world’ culture. In effect, this meant ‘ramping up’ recruitment whilst retaining a focus on high quality individuals. With a commitment to the development of existing employees, the internal HR function did not have the resource or level of expertise to carry out recruitment on this scale.
RSA were looking for a recruitment partner able to attract and select the talent that would be key to the overall success of the business. The added challenge was the short timescale in which this resource was required.
The Resource Management Solution
After undertaking an extensive feasibility study, Resource Management worked with RSA to develop a strategy and best practice process which was specific to the needs of the business, reduced cost and simultaneously improved the quality of new recruits. RSA are going through a period of significant change and Resource Management has had to adapt its approach accordingly. In addition to the day to day management of all recruitment, we have also driven the need to improve the organisations recruitment brand.
